Nelson Corporation is seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our team. As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human capital management and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, which include the following:

Staffing

  • Develop and administer the recruitment process designed to attract qualified new employees
  • Manage the entire employee interviewing/onboarding experience, ensure proper new hire orientation

Legal Compliance

  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law to ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Inform and advise leadership of upcoming legal changes

Employee Relations

  • Advise management in appropriate documentation and resolution of employee relation issues
  • Gather feedback from employees through exit interviews, individual contact, and surveys
  • Make recommendations for improved employee experience

Training and Development

  • Conduct management training concerning interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety and harassment prevention
  • Design and administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization

Compensation and Benefits

  • Responsible for accurate payroll processing and employee classification/job descriptions
  • Conduct annual review/renewal of benefits plans

  • Ability to link HR resources to support the organization’s culture and goals
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information
  • Strong organizational skills
  • PC literate with MS Word and Excel software
  • Knowledgeable of laws and regulations such as ADA, FMLA, EEO, FSLA
  • Must pass a background check

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of HR experience in recruitment, selection, position classification, employee relations, training, policy and procedures, compensation and benefits administration
  • Bachelors’ degree in relevant field is a plus
  • Current HR Certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
